April 25, 2013 Regular meeting

When I arrived at 11 am, 4 of our quilters were already there. Makes you feel good knowing others are there before you.

Barb dropped off her quilt blocks for the friendship quilt. She even brightened herself up with this quilt. (lol)
Plus if you want to know how to break a chair with grace and shock, ask Barb! lol

One of Janet's tea cup blocks arrived today. It turned out wonderful - this is will make 2 blocks done, if I counted right.

Two of Susy's blocks arrived today as well. Each of the friendship blocks are coming in with so much talent! It's hard to believe some of us doing the blocks are beginners while others are advanced. Yet to look at them you wouldn't tell who was the beginner! It's so much fun to see what comes in.

Susy, Kathy, Connie, and Cil.

Working on circles.

We tend to get more excited over the blocks coming in then we do of the show and tell each of us bring in. It really gets to be funny when the excitement over the blocks out weight the excitement of the show.

Sharon brought in a wallhanging she did. She tells us all she's a beginner, but you wouldn't know it by this quilt!

This is another one of Sharon's bead works. She does beautiful work! A couple of us want to learn from her! She's so talented. More of her work is on her page.

Shirley from Myron's Girls came to visit us today. She showed her quilt "before Nancy Chong," which we all love!

She's going through her UFO's and getting them done. This is about 10 years old. Very talented lady at that. Many go to her for advice and it was good to see her at our group meeting again.

Blocks are coming back, recipes are needed for the blog, and we're trying to find a pair of lost scissors. So, if anyone in the group remembers seeing scissors and knows where they are, please let Lynn know.

The group called it quits early today - understandable with the weather being so nice - but it was awesome to see each other and chat! Hope to see everyone back in two weeks.

Connie's block. She said it needs embroidery before it's done. It's really pretty!

April 11, 2013 Get Together

We had a good turn out today. Amazing what all we can do! {Photo's are from my phone - forgot the camera :-(  }

We had show and tell that makes you want to go home and work on quilts.

Susy brought one of her quilts in progress. She has this much done and will be adding borders. It was one of those quilts where "we" tend to work on it and put it aside to finish later. Now her "finish later" has been poking at her to finish now.

Barb showed off her quilt she just finished. It is so pretty! Love the blues!

Sharon brought in her first appliqued quilt top. It is one of those that you can't believe it's her first time doing applique! What a sight!

Sharon is also known in the area as the "bead lady," as she does beautiful photos in bead work. This is one of her beaded wall hangings.

More friendship blocks are getting done -

Janet has us doing the Afternoon Tea In The Garden quilt. The quilt is Designed by Debi Anderson and is a "charming tea collection for a blck of the month quilt."

So far only two have come in, but a few of us have about half of the blocks done.

This is Susy's friendship block made with civil war fabrics. Not sure the name but will post the name of her blocks when I can.

This is the start of another of Susy's friendship blocks.

We have decided to have Friendship and Member's pages - so if you interested in each quilter, there will be a page of their work. If you want photo's of there friendship blocks all together they will be there as well.
