May 22,2014

The group had a good turn out. Several members showed up. Some came later, some were early and left early.

Lynn brought the box that belonged to LouAnn White, for members to take patterns they wanted. There were a lot of different patterns in the box. Some where taken, so Lynn took the box back and cleaned it up. She through out the patterns and "duplicates" that were in the box. She will return the last of the patterns.

A photo of members checking out the box.

It was good to see Connie and Deanna B at the meeting. It's been awhile for both of them.

The group had a great time, with members staying way past 2:30 pm today.

Our next meeting is in two weeks. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

May 8, 2014

Sorry it's taken me a week to post this, but was waiting to see if anyone attended the meeting.

JoAnn said she showed up to see who came before heading to the retreat. Sharon showed up and then left thinking everyone was going to the retreat.

Since only 3 of us from the group went to Falls Creek Retreat, I'll post what we did at retreat.

Rita and Donna were working on their quilts when we were arriving.

Some of us got started right away with hanging up our projects. The left side is JoAnn's project.

Later on she changed her "board" for working. These were the two projects she worked on during the weekend.

Lynn brought along some blocks she hand pieced, and had for 20 years. She wanted to get it done.

Kathy H worked on this quilt all weekend. She was finishing it up on the last day.

Lynn was busy tie-dying on the last day as well. It actually rained from Thursday to Saturday. On Sunday - the very last day, we had sun shine.

The fountain that is seen as people arrive to the Falls Creek retreat area. It's really pretty.

On the last day we saw some really nice clouds, and the best part was it wasn't raining.

Lynn finished her quilt Saturday morning. She got it home and added a 7" black strip to the sides of the quilt so it would fit better on a bed. She's going to use the same type solid strip for the binding of this quilt.

JoAnn brought a couple quilts for show and tell.

JoAnn's friend Jean was also there and had quilts to show. We are still waiting on their room photo to post here - so we can show! They won 1st Place in the Theme Room contest. Quilter's Junction gave us all a theme for our rooms. We were to decorate our rooms with quilts and if we stayed with the theme - we would win a prize. There were 3 rooms that were very close to each other in the contest. JoAnn and Jean won by 1 vote!! They received fat quarter packets for their prize.

The three of us that attended had a great time! We were also joined by Beverly from Myron's Girls group. It was great. Can't say if anyone attended our meeting - don't know why they thought we all were attending the retreat when only 3 of us were.

See you on Thursday, May 22, 2014
