June 18, 2015

Today was our quarterly potluck. We all gathered to enjoy each others company and have a great time.

Block done by Kathy H.

Deanna's block. These two blocks were added to the other blocks that were done for the drawing today. Winner of all the blocks was Deanna. She also received the extra background fabric to make more blocks if she wanted to.

Deanna had some show and tell for us - right off the bat! So, we did show and tell before our potluck.

Pictures of Deanna's daughter's Indian robe. Deanna was making this for her daughter. She participates in the Indian dances. Her Indian name is in the applique work. More fringe is needed on the robe. We all were in awe of her work.

Susy brought the quilt top she made out of the blocks from last year. These blocks were won in Sept last year.

Sis brought in her quilt top.

This is the top she's been working on when she comes to the meeting. She changed the border of the quilt. She did an awesome job and the colors are perfect for this quilt!

After the potluck we all talked about what we will do for the next two block drawings. They are as follows: .

June 11, 2015

We had a good turn out today. At least 7 members at one time.

JoAnn was working on her blocks.

JoAnn did this block for the drawing next week.

Joyce was working on her block as well.

Joyce showed the bag she made for a family member. She's been making quiet a few of them lately. She was telling how easy they are to make and how well they turn out.

Barb was working on her block for the drawing as well. She's thinking of what she will put in the center of this block where the "VW" circle goes.

Susy was showing the raffle quilt that will be raffled for the fair ground building. This is the blocks from last years contest. The new contest fabrics are out and up for sale at the shop. You can get a packet for $7.95, enough to make 2 blocks. If you want to do applique you will need to get more fabric, as there isn't enough for a background to do the applique on.

OUR NEXT MEETING IS NEXT WEEK. WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK AND DRAWING. BRING YOUR FINISHED BLOCKS.

Our next Quarterly Drawing will June 18, 2015, rules as follows:

Theme:    Patriot
Colors:      White background (provided by group), blue and red. It can be any patriotic blue and red.
Due:         June 18, 2015 Potluck

13" background blocks are in the draw at the shop. If anyone wants to do extra it will cost $1.50 more. There are small 4" blocks as well, and quilters are welcome to do those as well to go with the blocks.

BLOCKS ARE TO BE APPLIQUED.
