February 25, 2016

We had a great day! There were only about 6 of us, but it was a great meeting. We laughed so hard it hurt!

Kathy W was showing what she started working on for her granddaughter. This is a baby quilt piece.

Sue was working on her Hawaiian piece.

Joyce was knitting today. She told us after the meeting today that today was her last day. She's going to accept more work with the school district, and won't be able to attend any more meeting. We will all miss her, and we told her she is more than welcome back any time. We hope she does come back later on.

Deanna was working on this piece. She got this part done by the time it was time to leave.

Lynn was working on her "Cat Nap" 2 Fabric Applique. She got this all done at the meeting.

Kathy W showed how far she has gotten on the hearts and flowers quilt. She didn't work on it this time.

She was finishing up the monkey's face and got most of it done at the meeting.

Coasters are due at the next meeting. Some of us have already turned them in, others have not. They are requesting them to be done ASAP.

Lynn will be teaching a class on the 2 Fabric Applique. If anyone is interested, contact Rita at Whalen Quilt Works.

A couple members where not able to attend because they were working on the quilt show at the Christian School in Centralia. If one has the time - go to the show this weekend. Starts tomorrow!

Looking forward to seeing everyone next month! Remember 2nd and 4th Thurdays of the month at Whalen Quilt Works!

Today was a good day for a meeting. We had 9 members at one given time.

Kathy W brought in the quilt top that we all worked on. (Pattern and Designers:  Midnight Garden  Sara Tuttle and Sandy Brawner). They turned out pretty good.

This is Teri's block.

Deanna made this one - these two block where not turned in for photos earlier.

Cis was working on this project.

Joyce is still working on her Christmas blocks.

Susy was working on her mariner's compass.

Barb showed her blocks she's making by Kim McLean. She has been having fun working on these.

Barb was using her scraps to make a "bonus" quilt. This is one of the patterns she's doing. Spools in different colors.

Kathy H was working on her dragon quilt. She's getting there. She was laughing at how long it's been since she was working on it.

Lynn was quilting on her small quilt that her son (when he was 7) helped quilt. That was about 24 years ago.

Sue told everyone about the Annual meeting that is May 3, 2016. Those interested in attending can come. We will be doing a salad a soup for lunch. We are asking both groups to bring quilts to show. Those will go in a trunk show and Nancy will be doing a story to go with all the quilts. We will know more after April 1st.

Our next meeting will be February 25, 2016...looking forward to seeing you there.

Names will be posted on the quilt above at a later date.
