Today we had 7 members attending the meeting. Two members left early (including me). We had a good visit with each other and was able to see what everyone was working on.

We were able to pick the fabrics for the blocks we will be doing to donate to an organizations that can use it for raffling. The background fabric was not in yet, but we were still able to pick the fabrics that will go for out blocks. We received approval from both the designer of the quilt and TAS for being able to do the donation.

Sis showed her quilt she finished. She took a class using one of the tools in the shop. She did say it was fun, but it was a lot of work.

Jean finished her quilt she started last year in Lynn's class for 2-fabric Applique(tm). She had it hand quilted too!!

Lynn worked on her eagle blocks for QOV. She was able to finish two sets of wings.

At the meeting we talked about the renewal of TAS dues. Several of us talked about how TAS turning to the computer has put several of us at the point of "why?" A few of us don't use the computer to check magazines. Everything with TAS in on FB or on the website. Some of us don't go on the website. AND some of us don't like to print out the magazine to be able to read it. We don't read things on the website. We talked to Rita at the shop to see if we could still have meetings but not be under the TAS name. We had a good discussion and we will talk about it in the next couple meeting before we vote on staying or leaving TAS.

Our next meeting is the 23rd with a POTLUCK. Bring food and come join us all!!

February 9, 2017

Due to the editor (Lynn Wiltzius) not attending meeting in the past couple months, and no reports were given, no reports were made for the past 2 months.

Today we all met at Whalen Quilt Works. We talked about doing a donation quilt. We'd make a quilt that would be given to an organization to raffle off. No time limits.

So, we all brought patterns for a quilt that had 12 blocks. We'll buy the fabrics from the shop. We picked 3 patterns to use, with them being listed as 1, 2, 3. Contact to the pattern designer for permission before we will do them. The group picked the fabrics and the shop is going to order fabrics for us.

The group decided on the Red, White, and Blue colors, like what Cis is making with her quilt BOM.

The fabrics that were picked are darker than these. More in the direction of navy blue, darker reds.

Barb was busy hand quilting her quilt. She had part of the center done.

We had 9 members attending. A couple left early (including Lynn).
